Boss is watching: More takers for tools to monitor employees

Employee-monitoring tools, technologies that track and record employee activity in real time, are seeing sharply rising demand in India, according to this Moneycontrol report, with firms reporting growth of up to 100 percent in adoption as India Inc works to streamline HR tasks. TrackOlap's Time Tracking Solution assesses productivity by recording how individuals use their work hours across tasks and projects.

Speaking to Moneycontrol, TrackOlap founder and CEO Udit Agarwal noted that companies have raised concerns about remote employees potentially slacking off, a concern that intensified with the shift to hybrid work. Demand for monitoring software is highest in IT, FMCG and BFSI, where companies bill client time and want assurance that billing is accurate.
